I.Teaching contents: 2d role-play the conversation on page34

II.Teaching aims:

1. to enable students to be more proficient in talking about TV shows. 2. to express their own preference toward different TV shows.

3. to enable students to mater how to correctly use the new words and phrases. III.Teaching keys &.difficulties:

to express the preference towards different TV shows.

IV.Learning strategies: (1)Read to search the main idea and specific ideas. (2)Group cooperation in discussion. (3)Build up confidence in presenting one's own experience.

Ⅴ.Teaching procedures:

Step1. Greeting and reviewing (with pictures and PPT) 1.

The teacher should try to help students to recall what TV shows they have learned last class by showing different pictures of TV shows. 2.

After that, the teacher can ask the students to express their favorite TV shows by asking questions like: what TV shows do you like best? Or what are your favorite TV shows.

Step2. The Task

2d role-play the conversation Firstly, play the recording of the conversation and ask the students to circle the TV shows in the conversation at the same time. After that, show the questions on PPT to students and give the students 3 minutes to look through the conversation to find out the answers to the questions.

And then, 3 minutes again for them to read the passage and find anything they don’t understand about the conversation. If students are shy to ask the teacher questions, on the contrary the teacher can ask the students some questions, explaining some important words and phrases during this process. Finally, in order to get the students intonation and pronunciation better and better, the teacher can

guide the students to read after the recording by the computer.

Step3. Exercise: 3a and 3b ( you can make them as a homework if the time is limited.) Step4. Summary. Step5. Homework ( recite)

The lesson went on well. Students were quite excited and motivated. They showed their great interest upon the TV shows. After standing up bravely for telling their preference, the students became more and more longing for sharing opinion with the class. (3)

The practice appeared to be too many and it’s better to choose some more representative exercises and give more time to the students to think and then give the answers next time. (4)

Some directions weren’t very clear and the materials were a little hard for the slow students. (5)

More attention should be paid to the slow students in the next lesson.
