I、The Analysis of Teaching Content:

The key language point of this period is to talk about preferences and make plans, which bases on the content of Section A period 1, 1a-2c, In which we have learned the words of TV shows, such as talk show, soap opera, game show, sports show, talent show. And then, we review the phrases and the usage of key structures “What do you think of talk shows? I don’t mind them/ I can’t stand them!/ I love watching them.”,

and “Do you plan to watch the news tonight?”. Then, we lead in the new tasks 2d-3c. It includes a conversation, a grammar focus and three practice parts. II、Teaching Aims: Knowledge and Ability Aims：

1.Learn to say about the words : stand, happen, may, expect, joke, comedy, watch a movie/sitcom/sports show/game show. 2. Learn the key structures:（1）-- Do you want to watch a game show？--Yes, I do./No, I don’t.

(2)--What do you think of talk shows?- -I don’t mind them/ I can’t

stand them!/ I love watching them. (3)--What do you plan to watch tonight?

--I plan to watch Days of Our Past. Action and Skills Aims: The students take active part in the teaching procedures. The teacher motivates the students to learn the knowledge by using the

multimedia auxiliary tools, and the students also learn to get certain communicating skills by using English. Emotion and Evaluation Aims: Educate the students know how to express preferences and make plans. III、Teaching Key and Difficult Points:

Step1 Warming up:

1, Greet

students. 2, Review the words of TV shows by showing some flashcards. 3, Review the structures “-What do you think of talk shows?

-I don’t mind them/ I can’t stand them!/ I love watching them.”

4, Do some exercises. Step2.Presentation 2d

Listen to the tape for once and then make students scan the conversation in 2d. Then match the persons with their favorite shows. 2.

Read the conversation and answer the questions. 3.

Learn the key words. And ask Ss to role play the conversation. Step3

Grammar Focus. The teacher gives students a summary of Section A, and then ask students to fill in the blanks on the screen. Step4 Practice 3a-3b
