Teaching aims 1)

Knowledge aims: The students can master the usage of adverbs of sequence “first, next, then, finally” and can distinguish “how much” from “how many”.

Ability aims: The students can talk about making delicious foods or drinks by using the key expressions of this unit. 3)

Emotion aims: The students can learn more knowledge about different foods and drinks. II.

Important and difficult points Finish the three tasks by using the target language of this unit.

Teaching procedures Step1. Warming up Work in group and try to remember the words on the PPT as much as possible, including countable nouns, uncountable nouns and words about table-wares and cookers. Step2. Go over the key expressions and functional items of this unit. 1)

Distinguish “how much” from “how many”.

Review the adverbs of sequence “first, next, then, finally” and some phrases such as “cut up”, “pour... into...”, “one cup of...” and so on. Step3. Student presentation Task I. PPT presentation (4 groups) The group will show how to make a kind of delicious food by using PPT. After that, they will ask two questions according to their presentation. 2 points for each question . The time limit is 3-5minutes. (10points)

Task II. Live demonstration (3groups) The group will show how to make a kind of delicious food by live demonstration. The time limit is 3-5minutes. (10points)

Task III. Make up a crazy recipe. (2 groups) The group will show how to make a kind of delicious food by live demonstration. The time limit is 3-5minutes. (10points)

Step4. Consolidation Present a short passage about how to make a delicious food and ask the students to do some grammar filling exercises.

Step5. Homework Think of a favorite food in your hometown. Write a passage about how to make this kind of delicious food. (at least 80 words)
