描述是什么动物，到第二课进一步学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征。学习几对反义词：tall-short, big-small, fat-thin. 学情分析：

小学三年级学生正处于生长发育的关键期，他们模仿能力强、好

奇心强、活泼好动，对于带有模仿性、竞争性的练习，学生都有很大的兴趣，特别是将练习项目融入游戏中学生们更容易接受。

教学目标：

一、知识目标

能听说读以下词汇：tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat，三年级学生主要具备听说读能力，能够掌握单词的音形义。

能用句子描述人或物的特征：This monkey is small .That monkey is tall. 二、能力目标

能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.描述某人/物的特征。

三、情感目标

1. 培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2．通过学习，树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学过程: Step1. Warming-up. Greetings. T: Hello, boys and girls. I am Smile, nice to meet you! S: Nice to meet you, too. T: Thank you boys and girls. Now let’s watch a funny animal’s video. Do you like animals?

设计意图：（调动学生对小动物的兴趣）

S: Yes. T: That’s good. Watch the video, it’s very funny.（播放视频）

T: Is it funny? Yea, the monkey is very brave, he plays with the tiger! Step2.Presentation 1、T: Ok, let’s follow the funny man to the zoo. Look, this man is tall.

That man is short. At the zoo, we can see many different animals. Oh, look, this tiger is big, that tiger

is small. Maybe this tiger is the little tiger’s father. Next, they are very nice. This monkey is tall. That monkey

is short. Maybe this is his mother. And go on, what about the next animals. Oh, they are lovely pandas. This panda is fat, that panda is thin. 设计意图：（通过播放连环画内容，引出学习的新单词，并在学习的过程中做动作，更有利于学生对单词义的理解。同时复习上节课的单词lion, tiger, elephant, zoo等，带读的时候教师板书，在单词音和义的操练中，让学生一起举起手拼读。）

采取多种形式读，（a）一起做肢体动作，做矮矮的动作带读；（b）爬楼梯,声音从低到高；（c）我是小老师，点读机和小组比赛的形式；（d）师做动作生抢读；（e）教师说一词，学生抢答说出反义词，巩固本节课所学的反义词。（f）对比学生高低,玩具大小、胖瘦。（g）单词的形操练，把单词卡贴在黑板上，让同学们中一男生一女生，进行PK，另外一个同学来说新单词，两个同学抢着指单词：描写单词中的字母，从而加深单词形练习。）

Step3. Practice. T: Little Tom is two years old. He is very cute. He wants to play with toys, but first, he must finish 6 tasks, and then his mother agrees him to play with toys. put the big\fat\tall toys into the big box, and put the small\thin\short toys into the small box. Step4 Summary.

Fish the 6 tasks, let’s have a chant, T: Today we follow to the funny man visit the zoo and help little Tom finish 6 tasks. What did you learn from the activities?
