本课选自《新标准英语》三年级起始三年级下册Module2 Unit2 That man is short.本单元主要学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征。学习几对反义词：tall-short, big-small, fat-thin.

教学目标

一、知识目标

词汇：tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat

句子：This monkey is small and thin.

二、能力目标

能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

描述某人/物的特征。

三、情感目标

培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2．通过学习，树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学过程

Step2.Presentation

1).教师给学生们看一些图片，引出tall, short, thin, fat ,big,small.

T: Boys and girls , Now I want to show you something.

Look, What are they?

Ss: They are trees.

T: Yes, this tree is tall,and this tree is short. T:What are they?

Ss: They are monkeys.

T: Yes, this monkey is thin,and that monkey is fat.(拿两只猴子对比,引导学生说出thin,fat)(给说对的学生加分)

呈现图片，带读的时候教师板书，

点读游戏（教师点到某个学生的名字，同桌也快速站起来读）

(出示小猫的图片)

T: This cat is big.

板书：This cat is big.

T: And this cat is small.(做小小的动作，引导学生说)

呈现卡片small，带读的时候教师板书，并让学生一起举起手拼读。做小小的动作带读。抽读，纠正学生发音。

教师做动作，学生说单词，操练big,small,tall,short,thin ,fat.

师生唱反调，操练big,small,tall,short,thin ,fat.

2).呈现一个人图片，引出man.

T:Look

，Who is he?

S: He’s a man.(引导学生说出man)

T: Look at . He is tall.(做高的动作) 呈现卡片tall，带读的时候教师板书，并让学生一起举起手拼读。做高高的动作操练。抽读（让学生边读边做动作），纠正学生发音。

Oh ,he is short.（慢慢地对比，引导学生说出来）

呈现卡片short，带读的时候教师板书，并让学生一起举起手拼读。做矮矮的动作带读。抽读（让学生边读边做动作），纠正学生发音。

Drill: 1.拍手停。

2.师做动作生抢读，将big,small也带进来.

3）引出this ,that

S: He is tall.

He is short.(出示第二张人的图片) T:This man is tall.That man is short.

Drill:1.拍手停。教师与学生边拍手边说单词，教师停则学生停。

师做动作生抢读，将前面学的也带进来。

句子操练(用几件物体来进行句子操练)

1.教师做动作，学生抢读。

2.

教师说一词，学生抢答说出反义词，巩固本节课所学的反义词。
