三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Revision and Lead-in

1.Greet students and introduce myself.

2. Use the pictures to help the students revise the different kinds of TV shows .

3. Revise the target languages by asking and answering questions about the different shows and present new words.

4. Teach the new words. II. Pair work

1. Have Ss ask and answer questions in pairs using the information on PPT. They can also use the information that is true for them.

A: Do you plan to watch the news tonight?

B: Yes. I like watching the news. I watch it every night.

A: Why?

B: Because I hope to find out what’s going on around the world.

2. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations in .

III. Listening : Work on 2a

1. Look at the picture and answer the questions. 1) Where are they? What are they doing? 2) What are they probably talking about?

2. Read the shows in the box of 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information.

Read the conversations for the first time . Find out what kinds of TV shows Grace and Sarah are talking about and fill in the chart. 2.

Read the conversations for the second time . Find out what Grace, Sarah and their classmates think of the TV shows and fill in the chart. 3. After finishing the chart, ask Ss some questions and have students answer the questions according to the chart. 3.

Look at the chart and help the students to make a report. eg. Grace can’t stand the game shows and sports shows. But she loves soap operas….
