1. Ss enjoy a short video—Tom and Jerry. 2. Ask the students “ what kind of film is it ?” to think of the type —Cartoon. Then ask some students what their favorite cartoon is. 【设计意图】

课前观看短视频，活跃气氛，同时自然地让学生的思路进入“卡通”这一话题。

Warming up (5’)

1. Watch some short cartoon videos and tell their names. At the same time, explain and learn some new words in this passage.

2. Talk about the common features of all the cartoons. They all have simple stories, but they are successful. But do you think a cartoon might be a kind of culture? Give an example—Mickey Mouse and Disney. Learn the key word—culture.

【设计意图】通过观看四段学生熟知的卡通小视频，继续抓住学生的学习兴趣，同时引出阅读材料中将会出现的生词（main character, famouse, lose,unlucky, reason, be ready to etc.）之后，总结这些卡通的共同特征，并引入关键词—culture，为下文铺垫。

1.Talk about Disney’s first cartoon with Mickey Mouse—Steamboat Willie. Then watch a clip of it. 2. Let’s move on to the passage to learn more about Mickey Mouse. 【设计意图】让学生了解卡通也是文化的组成部分，从而引出Disney以及第一部出现Mickey Mouse的卡通片《威利号汽船》,并让学生通过短片对其作初步了解。至此，通过谈论卡通，过渡到文化，再到卡通人物Mickey Mouse，为正式进入阅读作好了充分的准备。
