Teaching important / difficult points:

How to listen to and talk about their favorite foods. Teaching steps: Step 1 Greetings and lead-in First greet to the students by asking some questions:What’s your name? What’s this in English? Do you have a basketball?

Then show an apple and ask:What’s this? Students answer: It’s an apple.The teacher says:This class will learn other fruit.

Step 2 New words and New structure 1.Show someLet the students look at the pictures and present the new words and new structure. eg. a banana

I like bananas. 2.Then ask students to read the words by themselves and give them several minutes to try to remember the words.After that ,ask some students to read the words and spell. 3.Words test. First ,have the students finish activity 1a and check answers. Then practice listening(2a). Let students listen to the conversations and circle the food they hear.

Step 3 Talk about likes and dislikes (1)

Show some pictures of food .let students talk about students’

likes and dislikes using I like and I don’t like .eg. I like bananas but I don’t like pears.

Step 4 Listening practice (1)

Listen for the first time and write down the food they hear.Listen again and number the conversation 1-3 (1b). (2)

Listen and finish activity 2b.Fill in the blanks.Listen again and have students imtate the tone. (3)

Check the answers and have students read three conversations.Then invite several pairs to read the conversations.

Step 5 Talk about likes and dislikes(2) 1.

Show some pictures of food ,balls and talk about likes and dislikes.

Eg. (1) A: Do you like pears?

B: Yes, I do. I like pears.\ No, I don’t like pears. I like bananas. (2) A: Do you lile basketball?

B:Yes,I do. I like basketball.

A: Do you have a basketball? B:No, I don’t .But I have a baseball.

Have the students make up the conversations like this.Then invite some pairs to share their coversations.

Step 6 Emotional education 1.An apple a day keeps the doctor away. 2.Eat more vegetables and fruit.

Step 7 Homework 1.

Recite the new words. 2.

Write some sentences about your likes and dislikes(such as balls, food, colors and so on).
