一、Teaching Aims：

1. Knowledge objectives：

1) 能掌握以下单词：curly, straight, tall, medium, thin, heavy 2)能掌握以下句型：

What does he look like? He is tall and heavy. She has short curly hair. She isn’t tall or short, she’s of medium height.

2. Ability objective 1）学完本课，学会描述人物外貌。

2）能积极思维，运用所学单词，短语及句型，结合实际生活进行灵活运用。

3. Emotion objective：

通过对同学、教师或自己偶像友好地外貌描述，让学生在人际交往中能多发现别人的优点，从而学会理解他人、尊重他人、让学生真正懂得心灵美才是最美，千万不要以貌取人。

五、Teaching procedures: Ⅰ. Warming up

Let’s play guessing game. Ask the students to guess what he/she look like according to my description.

Ⅱ. Presentation (New words) 1. Show pictures and describe about their height / build / hairstyles . Let students understand the words in the class .e g: short /long/ hair ; tall / short / medium height ; fat ( heavy)/ thin / medium build. 2、Ask the students to read the words together. 3. Ask the students to read the words one by one. Ⅲ. Presentation (Section A 1a) 1.

Match the words with the people in the picture. (1a) 学习课本的第一部分P49,1a

Now please look at P49, Use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once. First ask one student to read the dialogue.

The students guess the missing words or phrases. 3.

Listen and fill in the blanks in the picture. Can you find Amy’s friend? 4.

Listen to the dialogue of 1b again and try to find the sentence pattern for asking

people’s appearance and the sentences for describing people.

What does he look like? Is he short or tall? He is really tall.

He has curly hair.

5. Ask the students to read the dialogue together. Ⅲ. Practice (Section A 1c) 1. The teacher describes two students’ looks. (One is short and thin. The other is tall and heavy.) Tell the students: Everyone is special .Everyone is important. Don’t judge people only by their look.(进行德育渗透) Ask the students to summy how to ask and describe people’s looks.

2. Look at the pictures in PPT and ask some student to describe their height/build/haircuts. 3. Ask the students to read the sentences. 4.Group work:work in groups of four to talk about the other group members . 1).Describe the other’s group member’s look.

2).Ask the other students to guess who he/she is. 5.Report in groups. Ⅵ.Summary:Ask the students to summary what they learnt.

Ⅶ.Homework 1. Write some sentences to introduce one of your favorite teacher's looks.

2. Write a composition about one of your favorite teacher’s looks.
