1. 培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2．通过学习，树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学重点与难点：

1、听说读单词tall short big small fat thin 2、掌握语言：This monkey is small and thin .That monkey is big and fat . 教学方法：游戏教学法，小组竞赛法，问答法

教学用具：录音机，单词卡片，图片 教学过程： 一、Warm up . Greetings. 2. Review: T :What `s this ? Ss :It`s a desk . T :What are they ? Ss :They are desks ,etc 3、让两个同学到台前来，一个胖的，一个瘦的。自己说：I’m thin ,I’m fat .让学生猜猜什么意思？学生猜到后。今天我们学习Module2 Unit2 That man is short.

二、Presentation (一)出示图片，教学单词 tall short man big small thin fat (二)呈现新知

1、出示两棵树的图片，老师做示范介绍两棵树的特征，让学生介绍这两棵树的特征，Look at the trees .This tree is tall.That tree is short .并且板书重点的句式。要做必要的领读和正音。 2、出示两一胖一瘦的猴子图片，Look at the monkeys .This monkey is thin.That monkey is fat. 3、出示两只一大一小的猫，让学生先在小组内介绍，后上台展示。Look at the pandas .This panda is big .That panda is small 4、呈现一个玩具人，引出man. T:Look ，Who is he? S: He’s a man.(引导学生说出man) (三)模仿操练 学生四人一小组，拿周围的同学或学习用品来介绍。 例如：Look at the boys .This boy is fat .That boy is thin . Look at the girls. This girl is tall .That girl is short . Look at the bags. This bag is big .That bag is small.然后选几组上台展示 三、巩固练习 1、看图描述。
