该授课内容为八年级上册第八单元How do you make a banana milk shake? Section B部分阅读课教学，教师以听说形式开展教学，授课年级为八年级学生。学生对文化差异有一定的了解。这节课是一节阅课读，分为两个部分，第一部分是介绍感恩节的历史，同时包含感恩节的食物庆祝方式等等，第二部分为turkey dinner的制作过程。先从同学们熟悉的中国节日，和食物着手，再引入到西方国家的节日和食物。通过观看video，调动学生对感恩节历史的兴趣。进入第一部分，学习感恩节的历史，用五个问题，when，what, where, how, why并通过思维导图的方式，训练学生阅读的能力，并复述课文，同时进行文化的渗透，告诉学生西方的感恩节和中国的春节一样重要，家人团聚，一起庆祝。第二部分，制作turkey dinner的环节。通过听说，复述，动作演示等方式，让学生们熟悉并流利说出制作turkey dinner的步骤，最后通过group work 的方式进行拓展让学生们谈论他们最喜欢的中西方传统节日。学生们了解更多中西方的文化差异，最后再进行了一个情感的升华，Enjoy the festivals love culture。本节课教学旨在培养学生能用相关语言描述中西方文化节日、食物、庆祝方式的差异，理解和正确看待文化差异，树立正确文化价值观。
