能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

描述某人/物的特征。

学情分析

学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征。学习几对反义词：tall-short, big-small, fat-thin. 重点难点

（1）学习并掌握单词tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat （2）掌握句型

This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

教学过程

Step1. Warming-up. Greetings.

Sing a song Step

two: Lead-in

1. Play PPT about two men

walk on stilts, T: What did you see? Ss answer: ……

2. Teach “man” and “tall”, five Ss read it one by one, lead in the sentence: This man is tall. 3. Look at that man, teach them to read “short”, different group to read it, Ss say the sentence: That manis short. 4. Write the title and show the goals.

Step three: Presentation

1. Look and guess: What are they in the picture? Teach them to read “big”, find several Ss to read them, invite a student to describe the ball “This cake is big”. 2. Use the same way to teach “small”. 3. Show PPT about two monkeys, teach them to read “thin”

and “fat”, read in boys and girls, loud and low, lead in the sentence “ This monkey is thin and small”, “That monkey is fat and big.”

4. I say, you do. 5. I say, you do the opposite. 6. Listen and repeat the text. Step4:Practice 展练

1、通过图片对比（高矮胖瘦大小），引导学生进行更多的练习。让学生掌握词汇 thin ，big，small , tall，short. 2、请学生两人一组轮流交换角色进行练习。让学生通过“介绍朋友”活动，结合本课的句型灵活地运用反义词描述动物的特征。（——I’m small and thin,my friend is big and tall.) Step 5 :Homework 家庭练习。

老师：“同学们你们能利用我们学过的单词，句子来描述一下周围事物吗？回家后仔细观察，描述一下你的家人或者朋友吧！”
