Unit9 Section B (1a--1f) Teaching aims: 1.

Learn the new words and expresses. 2.

Learn to ask and answer the dates and weeks. Teaching difficult and important points: 1.

Review questions and answers about dates and weeks. 2.

Learn the key sentences: -What＇s today? -It＇s Monday the 14th.

Teaching steps: Step 1 Revision Review the months and weeks by counting them. Step 2 Presentation 1.

Show a calendar and ask and answer the questions: What day is it today? What is the date today? And so on. 2.

Teach the new word : weekday,the day before yesterday, the day after tomorrow,look after. 3.

Present the sentences ：What＇s today? It＇s Monday the 14th. Step 3 Practice 1.

Practice the sentences by working in pairs. 2.

Finish 1a and 1b.

Step 4 Listening 1.

Look at 1d and read the phrases. 2.

Listen and finish 1d and 1e. 3.

Listen again and check the answers. 4.

Listen and fill in the blanks with the right numbers. Step 5 Pair work 1.

Students work in pairs to practice the conversations in 1f. 2.
