本课选自外研版三年级起始三年级下册Module2 Unit2 That man is short. 本单元主要学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征。学习反义词：tall-short, big-small, fat-thin. 教学目标

一、知识目标

词汇：tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat 句子：This monkey is small and thin. 二、能力目标

能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

描述某人/物的特征。

三、情感目标

1. 培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2．通过学习，树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学重点、难点 1.重点: （1）学习并掌握单词tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat （2）掌握句型

This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

2.难点：掌握 big and fat, small and thin 句型

五、教学过程

Step1. Warming-up. Greetings. Sing a song Step2.Presentation 1. T：Look at the blackboard.(讲授

look at) 出示动物卡纸，

T：What’s this? S：It’s a tiger.

T：What are they? S：

They are tigers. T: Can you describe this tiger? S: It’s big (or small)板书：

big----small 2. (1) 出示卡通树

T: What are they? (板书：trees) T: How to describe this tree? S: It’s tall/ short.

板书：tall-----short. （点读笔领读后，找学生读，加动作）接着，教师在两棵树上分别画两只一胖一瘦的猴子。

T：Look at the blackboard, What’s this?

Ss：This is a monkey! T：Yes! This monkey is fat! And, that monkey is thin! (找两名同学比一比，然后让其他学生描述) (2) 教师板书单词zoo, monkey, baby, thin-fat, tall-short领读，然后分组读，男女读，个别读，在教读的同时注意学生的发音是否到位，并及时纠正。 (3) 单词操练

教师出示画有thin-fat, tall-short的动物的卡片和look at的单词卡片，让学生快速说出该动物的特征。

(4)句子操练(用几件物体来进行句子操练) T: This boy is thin.

T: The monkey is ...

1.教师做动作，学生抢读。

2. 教师说一词，学生抢答说出反义词，巩固本节课所学的反义词。
