On my recent trip to Sydney with my parents, we visited the Wildlife Park. •

The Wildlife Park has lots of different animals and birds.

Some can only be found there. There are over 600 animals there, including kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles(鳄鱼). They are kept in their natural environment. I like the Wildlife Park better than a zoo where most of the animals are in cages(笼子). •

We first spent some time with the kangaroos. We were allowed to touch and feed them. There were koalas there too. They looked very cuddly(令人想拥抱的). Although we were not allowed to carry them I got to take a photo with one. It is a wonderful souvenir(纪念品) of my holiday in Sydney.

The Wildlife Park has plenty of freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. Some of them are rally big and scary with huge teeth! I did not want to get too close to them. •

There was also a bird show. The keepers showed us different species(种类) they had. I saw

an old parrot which

could“talk”. It made a great impression on me. I enjoyed the trip very much. There was so much to see. •

A: Hi, Li Lei. Where did you go for your last trip?

B: I went to mountain with my family and some of my parents’ friends.

A: That must be exciting.

B: Yes. In the day, we climbed the mountain and flew kites with the local people. In the evening, the local people made a fire. We all sang and danced around it. They also cooked some food for us. We ate and drank a lot that night.

A: That sounds really interesting.

B: But one thing shocked me a lot.

A: How come?

B: We camped in the mountain that night. When I woke up, I saw a snake sleeping near the fire. I felt so scared that I could hardly breathe.

A: Did it hurt you?

B: No. I called my father. He jumped up and down in the tent and woke up the snake, then it moved into the forest. Later I knew that snakes don’t have ears but they can feel moving things. What did you do during the vacation?

A:I didn’t go far the whole vacation. I stayed at home and did a lot of homework because I didn’t do well in the final exam.

B: That sounds boring.

A:I don’t think so. When the weekend came, my parents usually took me outside the city. We went fishing in the river, we rode horses. And we also went to the farm. On the farm, we milked the cow and fed some chickens. And I also took a walk and talked with my parents. So I didn’t feel bored.
