By Shi Jing Teaching aims: 1. To help the students review the key points in the tenth unit by doing the exercise in Self Check. 2. To help the students write a short advertisement by using the target language in Unit 10. Key points: 1. The usage of the target language in the tenth unit. 2.

The writing skills. Difficulties: To write a short advertisement by using correct English sentences. Teaching procedure:

I. Lead-in: Greeting and Warming up. II. Section B (3a-3c) & Self Check 1: 1. 3a: a. Help the students read the words in the box and help the weak students to know the meaning of

the words.

b. Read the whole passage to get the main idea.

c. Fill in the blanks by themselves.

d. Have some students share the answers by reading the text. 2. Self Check 1 & 3b:

a. Fill in the blanks in Self Check 1 and help the students brainstorm the food.

b. Help the students brainstorm some description words to describe the food. 3. 3c:

a. Help the students read the text in 3a again and analyze what we should write in a short advertisement for a restaurant.

b. Read the sample writing twice and get some useful expressions in it.

c. Help the students write their own advertisement.

d. Choose some works and assess them together.

e. Correct your own works.

f. Help your partner to correct his or hers. III. Homework: 1.

Rewrite your own advertisement. 2.

Finish the reading exercise.
