Step 2 Presentation and drill.

To show some family photos and bring out the word “family”.

Then talk about family members and related sentence pattern. 2.

Introduce the family members in photos one by one. Then blackboard the words: father, mother, brother and sister. And read them. 3.

Pay attention to the spell and pronunciation. Help students recognize the four words and read them. (The difficult point is to teach students how to pronounce “th”. Tell them to grip their tongue tip with their teeth.) 4.

Make use of the tape. Ask students to read after it. 5.

Listen to the dialogue. Play the tape twice. Ask

students to uncover their books, then count and find out how many family members are there in the dialogue. Play the tape one more time. Ask students to read and imitate the intonation. 7.

According to the pictures of the text, lead students to remember the dialogue and act it out. Step 3 Practice Game—Gold finger Paste the cards of family members on the blackboard. Divide students into two groups—boys and girls. Pick one of each group. Teacher say a word like “father”, the boy or the girl should point the right card with his/her finger as soon as possible.
