Ⅳ.Teaching steps: Step1:Lead-in and presentation Share with the students the teacher’s experience of trying to be a better mother and present the comparative form. Write the five comparative forms on the blackboard and ask the students to tell what they are. Then ask them to give the five

patterns that the comparative form is formed and list some adjectives or adverbs of each pattern. Step 2:Who’s taller,Yao Ming or Kobe?

1.A: Who’s taller,Yao Ming or Kobe?

B:Yao Ming’s (much) taller than Kobe. 2.A:Who’s more outgoing,Xidada or Putin? B:I think Xidada is ( much ) more outgoing than Putin. 3.A: Who gets up earlier, your father or your mother? B:My father gets up earlier than my mother. Get the students to pratice the sentence patterns above and then have a compitition between two sides. Step 3: Try to be more understanding

Share with the students the experience that I often ask myself

,“Are you as busy as your daughter? No, I’m not . She’s much busier than me.”Write the sentences on the blackboard as a sentence pattern.Ask the

students to put themselves into their parents’

position and also ask themselves such questions. Get the students to ask and answer in their groups of four in a row according to the given example and say something to their parents in the end .

Ask two groups to the front to share their work with the class. Step4: I will try to be a better son
