Reading for Fun教学设计及教案分析

This story is based on a book” Rosie Sprout’s Time to Shine”. I adapted according to the English learning. The reasons why I choose it as a learning material: 1.

The students will learn different adjectives such as the fastest, the fanciest, the highest, the best, the sparkliest and the tallest. It is a good expanded story for Unit 6 in Superminds. 2.

We read not only the words and sentences in the story , but also something more important for the Violet-like and the Rosie-like. Everyone cannot be the best always, just be the best of what you are. Teaching design: Warm-up: Talking the best around us is a good way to warm up the class. The students will be relaxed to find out the craziest, the funniest, the quietest, the loudest … in the class. Presentation:

Introduce the characters in the story.

While-reading: Task 1. Listening practice aims to know the background of the story. Students are supposed to fill in the blanks after listening. They will know very well about Violet.

Listen and fill in the blanks. She runs the _______ in gym class. She sings ___ _______ in choir practice. She is ___

______ storyteller at lunchtime. And she looks __

on picture day. Violet is definitely the best. And everyone agrees. Task 2: Say what you see and guess what the writer and painter wants to tell you. In this step students are going to describe the pictures and read their minds, that is to say, guess what they are thinking.

The significant thing is the different options you have when you are facing a better person than you. Any choice you make belongs to yourself. It is not the matter of right or wrong. It is about the truth in your heart. I do believe students will learn right from right, learn right from wrong.

Task 3: In this part students will learn to read, especially for the difficult words, confused sentence. We will have some guessing, a science problem, a comprehension exercise, sentence analysis etc.

Task 4: It is one of the most important part of the story. Analyze the change of Rosie’s feeling. What makes her the best? Guilty? Bad? Students will be the judges to sentence the truth from the bottom of Rosie’s heart.

After-reading: This will be a happy ending of the lesson, because we are going to act out the three characters in the story. Students will read their dialogue in their willing voice and tune to show up their thinking of the three roles. Homework: Read as more as you can, as fluent as you can, as beautiful as you can.

反思：

本节课依托于super mindUnit 6课文中的比较级，是拓展阅读。有知识点更有特别之处，即情感教育，如何面对比自己优秀的人？在教学过程中除了对课文理解性的项目，更多的体现了感情的引导，比如Violet的骄傲，Rosie做错事，到最后孩子们模仿三人的对话都使用了比较平静的语气，是最让我欣慰的，让情感在故事中流淌，寓教育与无声中。
