(3)Emotional aim: students can foster the interests and desire of learning English and improve their awareness and ability of intercultural communication. 2. Hello, boys and girls, I will speak two riddles about animals, please guess what are they? The first one is: It is a kind of mouse. It has a large pocket and its kid in this pocket. What is it? Yes, it's kangaroo in English.

And the second one is: It is a kind of bear. It has no tails. It eats leaves and lives in the tree. Most importantly, it sleeps day and night. Yes, it's koala in English. Do you know where do they live in? Yes, they live in Australia. Today, we will come to Australia and enjoy the beauty of Australia. Step two Pre-reading 1.

Teach the word Australia

Ok, everybody. Look at the blackboard, I will draw a map of Australia on the blackboard and then tell them it is Australia. Let students read after the teacher, and then find a student read it and then let students read after her.

Teach the capital city of Australia

Then, I will draw a star in the bottom right corner and tell students it is the capital city of Australia Canberra. Ask students to read this word. 3.

Teach the word beach

And then let students look at the map. Then I will task the students “What is the surrounding of Australia?”

Yes it is sea, so there are a lot of beautiful beaches. And read the word beach and ask a student to read this word. And then ask students what is the difference between beach and beaches?
