Analysis of Teaching Material

This unit around the topic of "Invitations", a variety of forms of learning activities in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students learn how to give, accept, or decline an invitation and they correctly utilize the "can" sentence to make an invitation and to accept or reject it. Section B 1a-1f consolidate the use of target language through topics in the listening and speaking activity expansion unit. Activity 1a writes the corresponding dates of a week. Activity 1b reviews new words( weekend, today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, weekday, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, etc). Activity 1c practices asking questions about dates with information from 1a and 1b. (What's today? )(It 's....) Activity 1d-1e combines relevant information such as dates for hearing testing. Activity 1f is a continuation of listening, students output the information they hear by role-playing. Analysis of the students

This lesson is for grade 8 students. Although they don’t have a strong autonomy in English learning, but they are lively, active and malleable. In class, I will pay attention to the change of emotion of students striving to shape a relaxed, democratic and harmonious atmosphere, meanwhile, respecting to every student, actively encouraging them to make bold attempts, protecting their self-esteem and enthusiasm for learning. Through Group-cooperation Learning, we can take care of the student who has difficulties in learning English and offer opportunities for students to practice the language, and encourage students to learn from each other and help each other. Using team competition create to active their interests in order to improve efficiency of learning. Teaching aims Knowledge aims：1. To learn some new words and phrases：calendar， the day before yesterday, the day after tomorrow, weekday, look after. 2. How to ask the date and the day in one sentence. A: What’s today? B: It’s Monday the14th.

Skill aims： 1. Get students to know how to make accept and refuse invitation. 2.The sentence “What’s today?”

Emotional aims: Let the students cherish today, cherish the time.
