1) Key words: today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, weekend, weekday

2) Key sentences: A: What’s today? B: It’s Thursday the 11th. A: What was yesterday? B: It was __________. 2. Language skills: Students should be able to ask and answer about dates and days of the week. And be able to ask and answer correctly. 3. Emotional education: Students may realize that we should reply politely when we turn down others’ invitations. Because friends are the one who always invites them to go out. Friends and families are the most important person in our life so we should care for them. II. Teaching difficult points

1. Students always forget “the” when they answer.

2. They forget to use the past tense in their answers.

Free talk: ask students the daily question. And today the daily question before class is “What day is it today?” to lead days of the week in. Step2 Warming up 1. Play a short video Days of the Week Teacher ask student are they ready for the activity or not. Then invite them to sing with the video and beat their desks with hands while they are singing. 2.

Let them sing Days of the Wee by themselves to review. Step3 Presentation 1.

Show them the pictures of days of the week to present today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow. And read after the teacher three times. 2.

Mark Saturday and Sunday to present weekends. And then mark other five days to present weekdays. They should read after teacher. Step4 Practice

Students will be divided into two groups. The teacher should give the winner drawing apples on blackboard.

Play Dart Game to practice.

Teacher should give them 2 minutes to prepare and then play the game together.

Rules of the game: students should stand up and read the word which is hit by the dart. (The winner gets two apples.) Play VS in Groups.

The computer was divided into two parts. The words we learned will fall from the top. They should come to the blackboard to click the right to get points. (The winner gets three apples.) Step5 Consolidation 1.

Teacher should ask them “What’s the date today?” to review the ordinal numbers and then invite some of them to translate the dates below: 四月一号,三月五号,五月12号,六月30号,七月31号

(The group which has more right answers gets apples.) 2.

Step6 Pair work 1.Teacher should lead in like this: We just learned how to ask about dates and days of the week. What if I want to know both? Do you know how to ask? Let’s see together. A: What’s today? B: It’s Thursday the 11th. Teacher should ask the question first and let students to change the answers according to 1a. Then the teacher should change today into different words like tomorrow and so on.

2.Let students prepare and present their own conversations.

Show them “What was yesterday?”

“It was Wednesday the 10th.” when they ask. 3.

Play the Circled Calendar. Show them a calendar of this month. And they should answer the question together according to the date which was circled. They should answer the teacher’s question one by one in the last part of this game. Step7 Listening

Now you knew my brother’s plan. Let’s pretend that you are inviting your friends to go out face to face. What will you say? Each group should prepare a small play. I will choose several students to present it to us.

Rules of group work: 1.

They will be divided into two groups--A and B.

Two groups should prepare the play in small group. 3.

The A group member should write down the information when the B group presents. I will choose students in random from A group to tell us the information. Then reverse. 4.

Give each group an apple if they answer correctly. Step9 Emotional Education Let them think about the questions：

1.Who always invites you to go out? 2. What will you say if you can't go out with others? So it's very important to be polite to others. Because friends are close to us but families are much closer to us. So we should love our families and friends.

then write down their answers to make the chart. You need to present to the class in next class.

Feedback:

1. Designed games attracts students a lot. Students are interested in taking part in class activities. And they are well prepared. 2.

They enjoyed the class atmosphere. They can cooperate with each other. 3.

I haven’t considered about all students. Some of them are not able to act the play. 4.

I should give students more chances to present themselves. 5.

Teacher can restructure the listening materials to enhance their reading abilities.
