本单元以“do you want to watch a game show?”为话题展开教学活动，首先让学生学会各种电视节目的英文表达，再让学生学会怎样用英语表达对不同电视节目以及事物的厌恶。通过用学生们熟悉的电视节目提高学生们学习兴趣，在通过简单的口语练习，使学生积极参与，合作，从而培养学生的综合语言运用能力。

教材在本单元开篇就是本课时，它安排了关于部分电视节目类型的单词，以及简单的表述厌恶的句子，为以后能正确表达自己的情感作出了准备。
