Step 3. Self-learning (3a) First, invite a student to read the five words in the box, explain their meanings and point out their superlative forms. Then, ask students to fill in the blanks on their own. Call attention to the correct forms of the words. Next, invite a student to read his or her complete passage to check the answers. Finally, answer the question according to the passage: Why does the writer go to the Greenwood Park?

Ask students to have a look at the sentences in the box and sample version in the speech bubble to know how to do this activity. Divide students into pairs to talk about the towns or cities in China. Give them enough time to do it. Finally, invite several pairs to present their work for the whole class.
