Student analysis 本班学生已学习英语两年,大多数同学能模仿老师,对英语有浓厚兴趣,课堂上能够积极发言,在老师的引导下,愿意使用简单的英语,但学生词汇量少,尚未形成正确的学习方法及熟练地语感。

S: Good morning, Miss.Wang. T: Good morning! Boys and girls. I’m happy today. Are you happy?
Ss: Yes, I’m very happy. Step2: Warming-up T: Now I am not your teacher. I am your friend Jenny. I am in Canada. Yesterday I listened to a music. I think it’s great. Do you want to listen to it? S:Yes. T: OK. Let’s listen to it together. If you can sing, sing it together. Ss and T listen to the song together.
T: Do you know the name of the song? S: ... T: Which country’s song is this? S: China. T: Oh. It’s the song of China. Today we will talk about something about China. T writes the title on the blackboard.

T: I am Jenny. I know nothing about China. What do youn know about China? S: the Water Cube, the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, Tian’anmen Square...in Chinese. T shows the places of interest in China. 2.
T: There are so many beautiful places in China. I want to travel to China. So I come to China by plane. When I arrive in Beijing, I see this. What’s this? S: a map (in Chinese) T: Oh. This is a map of China. T puts the picture and the word card on the blackboard. (China is the name of a country. The first letter must be capitalized.) 3.
T: I know the map of China. But what’s this?
S: This is a map of the world.
Ss read the sentence several times. T: On this map, can you find China? Where is China? One student come to the front of the classroom, and points it out. T: Oh, I know China is here. But where is Canada? One student come to the front of the classroom, and points it out. T: China is here. And Canada is here. Where do you live? S: We live in China.
T: Now I am Jenny, I live in Canada. We can see China is far from Canada. 4.
T: Look at this man. What is he doing?
S: speak (in Chinese)
T: Yes, he is speaking.
speak T puts the word card on the blackboard. T: What do you speak? S: We speak Chinese.
T: In China, people speak Chinese. But in Canada, people speak English. 5.
T: Just now, you said Tian’anmen Square is beautiful. So I come here. I see this. What’s this? S: This is the flag of China. T: What colour is it? S: It’s red. T: Look at here. What’s this?
S: It’s a star. T: How many stars are there? S: There are five. T: What colour are the stars? S: Yellow. T: What does China’s flag have? S: It has five yellow stars. T: Do you think the flag is beautiful? S: Yes. 6.
T: Look at here. Where is it? S: Beijing. Beijing is the capital city of China.(in Chinese) T: Yes, Beijing is the most important city of China. Beijing is the capital city of China. T puts “capital”
“city”on the blackboard. Ss read the sentence several times. 7.
T: When I come to Beijing, I feel that Beijing is very big. There are so many people in Beijing. There are so many cars in Beijing. What do you know about Beijing? S: Tian’anmen Square is in Beijing. T: Yes. And Tian’anmen Square is very big. S: The Palace Museum is in Beijing. It’s beautiful. S: The Great Wall is in Beijing. It’s long. It’s great.
