教学目标

1.通过谈论具体的节日、礼物、学生用品和服装,让学生明白上义词days,gifts,school things 和clothes与下义词之间的包含关系。2.通过头脑风暴游戏,既发展了学生的发散思维能力,也培养了同学间的合作意识和相互学习的良好学习品质。

3.通过创设具体的情境:过节日和给希望学校学生捐物,让学生们自然地运用所学句型:What day is it ? It’s ... , I will buy... for ..., I will give ... to ...

4. 通过引入希望学校的相关视频,触动学生的内心,自然引发学生的爱心。

学情分析

本课是六年下Unit 5 的任务课,同学们已经学习过节日,月份,以及名词复数概念,但是他们没有上义词和下义词的概念,通过本课的呈现,学生们的思维程度走入一个新的高度。

本课试图通过创设情境与任务结合的方式牢牢抓住学生们的注意力,增强学生的英语学习兴趣,这是符合六年级学生的心理发展特点的。重难点

能够使用句型:What day is it? 以及答语It is ...进行询问节日,能够熟练使用句型I will buy... for ... / I will give ... to ...。

教学难点:感知上义词与下义词。

Warm up

Look at the calendar and say days.

T: let’s read the calendar. Can you read it?

Ss: January 1st.

T: That’s right. What day is it?

Ss: New Year’s Day.

T: Yea

With the same method, review the days:

Aims: From the revision of the three days, they are ready for the superordinate--days. And this will help them to name some days for the following step.

Step 1

T : There are many days in a year. Now let’s count from January. What

day is it in January?

Ss: New Year’s Day.

T: What day is it in February? (blackboard shows: What day is it?) S1: Spring Festival.

T: That’s right. It’s Spring Festival. (blackboard shows: It’s ... )

T: What day is it in March?

S2: It’s Tree Planting Day. What day is it in April?

S3: It’s Easter. What day is it in May?

S4:...

Aims: This is to help them to practise the pattern: W hat day is it? It’s ...

Step 2

T: They are days. May is coming and Mother’s Day is on the way. I will buy a flower for my mother, and i will give my love to my mother. ( blackboard shows: I will buy ... for... / I will give ... to ...) What gifts will you give to your mother? Discuss in groups and write on the pink paper and then stick on the blackboard.

Let’s talk about the gifts they write on the blackboard.

T: Whose chocolate?

S1: I will buy a chocolate for my mother.

S2: I will make a card for my mother.

S3: I will draw a picture for my mother.

...

Aims: 1. This is to practise the patterns: I will buy ... for... / I will give ... to ...

2.It can also help them to understand the superordinate: gifts. This brainstorm activity can help them to develop the imagination.

Step 3

Talk about the days.

T: Look here, there are some gifts. One gift has a day. Work in groups and choose one day as your topic.

T: Let’s read the gifts together.

Ss: a heart balloon, a round balloon, a flower, some hearts balloons, some balloons, some flowers.

T: Which one do you like, G1?

G1: A heart balloon.

...

Ask three groups to show their dialogue.

Step 4

Listen, some children are also talking about the days. Now let’s go and see who they are.

SS: Zhou Pei, Lisa...

T: Good. They are children.

Listen one by one. After the second listening, check it like this:

T: What day is it?

S1: It’s father’s birthday.

T: So...

S1: She will buy a new pen for her father.

Step 5

You know Children’s Day is after Mother’s Day. So how do you s pend Children’s Day? Let’s look at the picture and talk about it.

PPT shows 10 T- shirts, 20 sweaters, 30 jeans

S1: I will buy 10 T- shirts for myself.

S2: I will buy 20 sweaters for the children.

S3:...

With the same method, let them know the idea of daily supplies and school things.

Step 6

T: I will buy all the things for the children in need. Now let’s watch a video.

Show the video about HOPE SCHOOL.

T: How do you feel about the children?

Ss: I want to help them. They need our help.

T: You are so kind.They need

in groups and write down what you can give to the children in need? They stick the paper under SCHOOL THINGS , CLOTHES AND OTHERS properly.

Count the things.

Step 7

Listen and write Things for Hope School.

After the second listening, check and read.

Homework

1.Mother’s Day is coming. Discuss how to spend the day with your friends.

2.Children’s Day is coming. Can you make some gifts and send them to the children in Hope School?
