Good morning, ladies and gentleman , i’m the candidate No______, applying for the junior middle school English teacher. It’s my great honor to stand here to show my teaching plan to you .Today my topic is the forth period of Section B Unit 8 “How do you make a banana milk shake?” In order to make it much clear , I’ll express my thoughts in the following 4 aspects , which are the teaching background, assessment of performance ,teaching procedures and the backboard design .Now ,I’ll present them one by one.

The first part of my presentation is the teaching background. This lesson is the forth period of Section B Unit8 BOOK 3 of Great 8 PEP. It mainly talks about thanksgiving days and the way to make a turkey dinner ,

which is related to students’ daily life .As we all know the input has great effect on the output ,such as listening and reading .So this lesson plays an important part in this unit. And if the students can learn it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this book. They also can have a great improvement in comprehensive skills

And the students of grade 8 have learned English for several years, they can speak simple English very well .and they are very active and curious, they can make their learning aims come true and feel successful by experiencing, practing and cooperating .But their obstruct thinking is not enough, so I will give them some help to solve the difficult problems.

After learning the analysis of the students, i set up the following 3 objects

First is the knowledge and skill object

One, to enable students to master the new words and phrases: Thanksgiving , traditional, autumn, traveler, celebrate, and so on . Two, to let students grasp the main idea of the passage and have a good knowledge of thanksgiving in the United States.

Next is the method and process object. One, to improve students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Two, to train students’ abilities of self-studying and group-cooperating

The last is the emotion, attitude and value object This lesson helps to cultivate student’s awareness that

we should be grateful for what we have had.

According to the teaching aims, I list the key points and the difficult points. The key point is that, students should master the new words, phrases and gain

the main idea of the passage.

The difficult points are that students know how to use different reading skills to learn the passage and know how to retell the passage with some key words and information. And they know how to talk about a special day in China.

What I have said just now is the first part of my presentation; now

let’s continue to my second part: assessment of performance.

In this lesson, I will mainly adopt formative assessment. In my process, I will arrange some activities and give students some tasks to let students finish tasks by self-studying and cooperating. And I will also invite some students to come to the front to show their discussion results .Whatever their performances are, they will be encouraged and gain a point for his group and I will give timely and effective feedback to their performance. If I am satisfied with their performance, they will gain another two as a reward. If students feel a bit difficult, I will give them some hints for help. In addition, in order to motivate students’ learning interest and make an active learning atmosphere, I will also integrate mutual rating and self-rating together,

Now, we’ll come to my third part: teaching procedures

In this lesson, I’ll adopt effective class teaching model. As we all know, the main instructional aim of English learning is to train students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as their good sense of English language. Therefore, in this lesson, I’ll mainly use commutative teaching methods and task-based teaching method. And, in order to make this class more interesting, a recorder, a paper and CAI will be needed.

Based on the teaching strategies, I divide my teaching process into 6 steps.

Step 1:lead-in .it will cost 5 minutes

At first, students will watch a video of mid-autumn day, after watching the video; I will have a free talk with students to lead into today’s topic.

“When is the mid-autumn day?”

“What can we eat on that day? Moon cake. Do you know how to make moon cakes?”

Purpose: I think it is important to form a good English learning surrounding for the students. Using a video not only can stimulate student’s learning interest, but also can concentrate their attention to the class quickly. It is also helpful for me to lead into today’s topic naturally.

Step 2: self- studying .it will cost 12 minutes. Task 1: At first, I’ll

let students listen to the recorder of the passage and underline words and phrases they don’t know. They will look them up in the vocabulary list or in the dictionary. Next, they will discuss them with their partners and try to read them

out.

In this task, I will guide students to pronounce the words and I’ll also explain some key words, phrases and target language briefly with pictures

Task2: skimming 1 Let students read the passage quickly and match the main idea of each paragraph and underline the topic sentence.”

2 students will read the passage again and number the pictures in 2b

Purpose: these tasks can not only help the students to gain the main idea of the passage, but also can foster students’ abilities of observation, expression and self-studying, so that students can input the target language and master the key points .

Step 3: cooperation and exploration. It will also cost 12minutes

In this step, students will finish 4 tasks.

Task1: listening practice

Students will listen to the tap and fill in the blanks of the passage.

Task 2: scanning

1).Students will read the passage again and answer the questions with their partners.in 2c. 1.Where do people celebrate Thanksgiving Day? 2.When do people celebrate it? 3.Why do people celebrate it? 4.How do people celebrate it? 5.What is the main dish on that day?

And a group member will be a reporter to show their results. 2). students will read it again and fill in the blanks in 2d.

Task3: retelling I will guide students to use some key words and phrases to retell the passage.

Task 4: writing practice

, I’ll instruct students that each group choose a special day of china to discuss the questions in 2e.Then they’ll write a article togrther. After that, they will check the mistakes by peers and choose one member to share it with the classmates.

While the students are discussing and writing, I will walk around to give them some help.

Purpose: these tasks can not only improve student’s listening, speaking, and

writing abilities, but also can foster student’s cooperation and exploration spirit. It can also help to solve the difficult points.

Step 4: self -check. It will cost 8 minutes Students will do some exercises in learning paper, and check the answers with their partners and I will give some explanations to the difficult ones. Exercise1: translation: ask students to translate the following sentences Exercise2: put the following words in the right order. Exercise3: use the right form of the words to fill in the blanks.

Purpose: these exercises helps me to check whether students master the target language of this lesson, and it also can help the students to consolidate what they have learned.

Step 5: summary. I will spend 5 minutes in this step.

Students will sum up what they have learned in this lesson, and at the same time I will give some complement.

Purpose ：

it will train students’

summarizing abilities and at the same time students can review the key points and the difficult points .

Step 6: Homework .it will cost 2 minutes

1 let students remember the new words as many as they can

2 do some extension exercise in the workbook

Purpose: I think homework is so important for the students to consolidate what they have learned in this lesson. And it also can foster their ability of transferring knowledge.

Ok, let’s come to the last part the backboard design

The title of this unit is in the top of the blackboard

And the new words and phrases are on the left, the key sentences are in the middle, the group evaluation in on the right.
