通过本节的学习，让学生知道如何接受及礼貌的拒绝别人的邀请，这会培养学生良好的言行举止。

2、句型：What’s today?

It’s Monday the 14th. 【教学难点】

提高学生的听说能力，以及掌握情态动词can用来提出邀请的用法。

教学过程

Step1. Warm up Greet the class as usual and check the homework. Step2. Presentation 1. Have the Ss write the dates for this week on the calendar in the book and tell the class

2. Point to different dates and ask different Ss to read each day’s date to the class.

3.1b Ask Ss to write these words below the correct dates on the calendar in 1a. Step3. Ask and answer

1.1c First, ask two Ss to read the dialogue in the speech bubble. Then ask different Ss the dates at a rapid speed

2. Have Ss work in pairs to make conversations and show some pairs to the class

Step4. Listening

1.1d Play the tape and ask Ss to finish this part. Then check the answers. 2.1e.Play it again and ask Ss to match the activities with the days. Finally, check the answers. 3. Presentation: have Ss to tell the class about Vince’s schedule

Step5. Pairwork

1.1f. Student A (Andy) invites student B ( Vince) to play tennis.

2. show some pairs to the class

Step6. Groupwork

1. Have one student make an invitation and the other students in the group reply to the invitation ( give the reason)

2. Invite several groups to present their work. Step7. Homework Write at least five invitations and five refusals with reasons
