Section A The Analysis of Teaching Material This unit is about

why you don’t talk to your parents?

By studying of this unit, we’ll enable students to know how to get on well with friends and parents, and develop the interest in communication. At the same time, let the students learn how to communicate with others. As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing. Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of this unit. If the Ss can master it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit. The Analysis of Teaching Methods As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims, I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories. 1.

Total Situational Action a “scene — activity” teaching method , it establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss. At the same time, CAI can provide a real

situation with its sound and picture; it can develop the Ss creativity in learning English. Teaching aims: I Knowledge Objects. 1.Words and expressions: allow， wrong, midnight, guess, deal, allow sb. to do… allow

doing…, deal with…, be good at,

look through, work out, give sth back to sb, surprise sb. be angry with , have/get into a fight with , a big deal, 2. Sentences: 1).Why don’t you talk to your parents? 2). I have to study too much so I don’t get enough sleep.

3).What’s wrong? 4).I do not have any free time to do things I like. 5). I am not good at writing letters. 6).I got into fight with my best friend. 7). My parents don’t allow me to hang out with my friends II. Ability Objects. Ss can improve their listening, speaking and reading skills. III. Moral Objects. Ss can use the knowledge they learned to talk about the problems and difficulties they had. Ss can give others advice and learn to choose the right advice. Ss will learn to express their ideas and willings bravely. Ss will learn to solve the problems in their lives properly.

Teaching Aids:

A tape recorder. A Projector. Workbook exercises. Teaching important and difficult points: To improve the interest and skills of listening. To learn how to communicate with others. How to talk about the problems. How to give advice according to others’ problems. Teaching procedures: Step1 Warming up & Leading in Greet the class and check the homework. Lead in by asking questions. Eg: Lily, you look unhappy. What’s wrong with you ?

Do you have any problems to trouble you? Then enjoy a short video about the worries of Ss. Lead to the worries to the Ss. Step 2 Presentations 1. Present the problems Ss had these days. 2. Work on 1a Let the students look at the problems in 1a, discuss if they are serious, and write them in the appropriate box. Read them aloud to get the pronunciation right. Explain some key sentences, and make sure the students

understand them. Step 3 Listening Listen and circle the problems you hear in 1b Check the students’ answers. Listen and repeat. Stepv4: Practice Look at the problems in 1a and make conversations like this: A: What’s wrong?

B; I’m tired because I studied until midnight last night.

A: Why don’t you go to sleep earlier this evening?

2. 情态动词should， should等 should，shouldn’t “（不）应该”，常用来提出请求和建议 could “可以”可也用来给出建议。

friend is giving him advice. Let’s listen and fill in the blanks with could or should. Ss listen and fill in the blanks. T: Peter’s friend gives him some advice, but he doesn’t like their advice. Why doesn’t Peter like his friend’s advice?

2. Listen again. Write the letters next to the advice. 3. Check the answers. 4. Do you have better advice for Peter? Step 7 Role-play Go over the conversation in 2d ,and deal with the difficulties in groups. The teacher goes through the classroom and offers help

if necessary. Read aloud the conversation in pairs. Act out their conversations in groups, then in class. Step 8 Summary

This class we’ve reviewed key vocabulary in this unit. we’ve learnt how to give some advice and how to do some reading, writing and oral practice. Then we hope everyone will communicate with others, and will get on well with others. Step 9 Homework Finish the exercises of the workbook.
