The students are a lot frightened to have such kinds of classes. Most of them are not really poor in English and little interested in English classes. They hope that this kind of pre-writing lesson be much easier and more interesting. Ⅳ. Teaching Procedure Step1. The students review to warm-up. T: What’s your favorite place to go on weekends? Why is it?

Step2. (3a)The students read the requirement in 3a and fill in the blanks in groups during class.

The teacher picks 2 good ones and presents to them. Step3. (3b) T: Think about some of the best places/things in your town.

Why are they the best?(

best school, best super-market, best hotel) The teacher asks the students to make notes of best places in this town. They make notes into complete sentences. Step4. (3c) The students are given 15 minutes or more to compose a composition. Then they hand in their composition and the teacher checks. The teacher choose the excellent writings and give comments. The teacher guides the students to help improve the much-worse two writings written by the below-average students. Home-work: Finish writing.
