Step One .Lead-in

Greet students as usual. 2.

Show the picture of the calendar. 3.

Ask students to use the words tomorrow , the day after tomorrow, yesterday , the day before yesterday, weekday, weekend 4.

The teacher may want to have ss review the ordinal numbers from 1st to 31st before they do activity 1a. Step Two.Do 1b. This part is going to give Ss practice using the target language in a different context. A: Do you want to play soccer next Saturday? B: Do you mean this Saturday or a week from this Saturday? A: I mean this Saturday. On Monday when the speakers are having the conversation above., Saturday seems far sway so Speaker A uses the word next . However, speaker B wants to make sure that Speaker A does not mean “a week from this Saturday” by using the word “next”. It is a good idea to always confirm the special dates when making plan. Step Three:Listening practice. 1.

Ask the students to listen to the tape and fill in the blacks.
