Step 1 Warming up
T: Today we are going to learn Unit 5 A party. And today I bring
a piece of good news. Look at the poster.
Ss: Wow, Christmas Day!
T: Yes, Christmas Day is on December 25. It’s on Monday. We are going to have a big party at our school on Monday. How do you feel?
Ss: I’m very happy. 〔设计说明〕:通过海报导入Christmas party,调动学生对本课主题party的兴趣,为后面的学习活动做铺垫。
Step 2 Presentation 1.
Preparation
T: There is no food at school. So what am I going to buy?
Ss: apples, bananas,chocolates...
T: Now let’s play a game, Word flash. Are you ready?
Ss: Yes. 〔设计说明〕:熟悉句型I’m going to buy...,复习食物、饮料等,便于学生后续交流。

Learn new words
T:Now look at the picture, what’s this? Ss:It’s a plum./It’s chewing gum.
T: What are these? Ss:They are plums.
T: I’m going to buy chewing gum and plums. What are you going to buy?

Pairwork T: Now you can ask your partner, what are you going to buy? 〔设计说明〕:通过师生对话,生生对话,讨论party需要的食物和饮料,同时巩固新句型。
4.Toby’s story T:Look,it’s Toby, our old friend. Toby also brings a piece of good news. Look and listen. Why is Toby so happy? S: Becuase we are having a party on Friday. T: Yes. Look ,Toby is dancing and singing. The music is wonderful. Can you answer the questions? S:It’s on Friday. It’s at our school. 〔设计说明〕:通过Toby的情景设定,让学生熟悉第一段歌词的句型,并提前熟悉旋律,吸引学生学习歌曲的兴趣。
5.Learn the song 1)T: Now let’s listen to the song and fill in the numbers. Then check answers. 2)T: Now listen again and complete the text,then check answers. 3)T: Now let’s sing the song. We sing part1 together, then girls sing part2, boys sing part3. 4)T: Let’s sing the song in groups. 〔设计说明〕:通过四个环节,逐步让学生熟悉单词、句子和旋律。分小组演唱可以激发学生的竞争意识,并有效了解学生的掌握情况。

Talk about activities T: I like singing very much, so I’m going to sing at the party. What are you going to do at the party? S: I’m going to ... T: Now let’s ask your partners the question? And tell me what your partner is going to do. 〔设计说明〕:通过练习两个新句型,可以让学生进一步理解be going to do这一将来时的用法。

Talk about how to hold a party T: Boys and girls, do you know how to hold a party? S: Time, place... 3.Write down a birthday plan T:We’ve talked so much about our Christmas plan. Now let’s write it down. OK?

Group activity T:Now please get into groups of four, then adapt the song and write them down . 〔设计说明〕:培养学生合作学习的学习能力,交际问题的语言能力。
Step 4 Homework
T: Boys and girls, here is your homework.
1.Sing the song to your family. 2.Look for other parties around the world on the Internet.
