一、教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Lead in

1. 屏幕展示谢娜的四张照片，引导学生们来描述她的头发变化。

T: What does Xie La look like? S1：She has long straight hair.

S2: She has short hair.

...... 2、继续展示两组对比照片，引导学生们来描述他们的身高和体重。第三组照片展示是否戴眼镜，从而复习对人物外貌的描述。

3、通过六张有表情的照片，引导学生对人物的个性的描述，从而引入学习生词humorous, silent, helpful,generous,mean Ⅱ. Words presentation 1. Look at the chart in 1a, then discuss with your group mates. Try to fill in the chart with words to describe people.

Presentation

Show three different pictures of some famous people. Talk about their differences.

1．Xie La : Xie La used to have long straight hair, but now she has short straight hair.

2. Jiang Wen:

Jiang Wen used to wear glasses, but he doesn’t wear glasses now.

3. Zhang yishan Zhang yi’shan used to be short, but now he is tall. T:

Explain the use of “used to do/be …” to the Ss.

Ⅳ. Listening

1. T: Bob hasn’t seen some of his friends for four years. Now he’s seeing his friends. What did his friends use to like? Listen and fill in the blanks.

1) Mario used to be ______. He used to wear _______. 2) Amy used to be _____. She used to have _______ hair. 3) Tina used to have ______ and ______ hair.

2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen.

3. Ss listen and try to fill in the blanks with the right words.

4. Play the recording again. Let Ss check their answers.

5. Listen for the third time and answer the questions. 1.) How long haven’t they seen each other?

They haven’t seen each other for four years.

6. Practice in pairs. Let some pairs read the conversations as quickly as they can.

1. Look at the picture in 1a and make conversations in pairs.

2. Ss work in pairs to ask and answer the appearance about the persons in the pictures. Ⅵ. Summarize. Can you make some sentences with the following words?

Example: I/He/She used to ..., But now I/He/She ...
