三、教学过程(Teaching process) Ⅰ. Revision Show students some pictures of the food they often have. Ask the try to describe the process of making the food. Ⅱ. Lead-in and presentation Show students a picture of rice noodles. Ask them if they like them, and what we need to make a bowl of rice noodles. Then show them pictures of Yunnan rice noodles and ask them if they know how to make Yunnan rice noodles. Ask students to read the recipe in 3a and try to fill in the blanks with the words given

in the box. Check their answers and explain how to decide which word is suitable for the blank. Ⅲ. Practice and writing

Ask students about their favorite food. Ask them what they need to make their favorite food.

Ask students to write down the ingredients for their favorite food.

Then try to describe the process of making the food.

Next ask students to write down the process, and make a recipe for the food.

Remind them to use 3a and 3b to help them.

Ask students to show their recipes in class. Help them to correct the mistakes in them. Ⅳ. Group work

Show students some pictures of some crazy food. Ask what they think of the food.

Ask students to work in groups to make their own crazy food. Tell the recipe for

their crazy food. Exchange their crazy food with other groups.

V. Self check

Work on Self check 1

Ask students if they can make tomato soup. Ask students how to make it if their answer is Yes. Then let them read the instructions in Self-check 1. Try to find the right order of the sentences. Use the words in the box the make them into a correct recipe. Work on Self check 2

Ask students the amount of ingredients they may need to make tomato soup. Review the usage of how many and how much. Then let them to read the phrases in Self-check 2. Ask students to make sentences with the phrases given. Ask some students to check their answers with the whole class. Correct their answers if necessary. Homework

Write a recipe for the food they or their parents often make at home.
