大多数形容词和副词有三个等级：

形容词和副词的比较级和最高级的用法.

1)

原级用来描述人或物的特征等。没有和其他人或物进行比较。

Eg. The Pigs are all fat. The bird can fly fast. 可以用very/quite/pretty 等修饰。

Eg. Sun Honglei has very small eyes. 2)

比较级用于两者间的比较。连词than 后接比较的对象。当than 前后所使用的动词相同时，通常用助动词代替后面的动词。

Eg. I’m more outgoing than my sister. You speak English better than I (do). He works much harder than me. 可用even/a little/much 等修饰比较级。

3）

最高级用于三者及以上间的比较。后面可用in,of 短语来表示比较的范围。 形容词最高级前要带the ,副词前the可省略。

Eg. Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. The Caspian Sea is the deepest of all the salt lakes. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever met. 4) as...as ; not as/so …as 用于两者的比较。

Eg. As for learning English, listening more is as useful as speaking more. Tom doesn’t run as/so fast as Jack. 5) 用比较级来表达最高级的意思。
