一、教学目标

（一）认知目标

1. 能够正确地听、说、读、写、用单词：

map

country

north

south

east

west

2. 使学生认识地图上的方位，认识世界地图一些重要国家(China, Canada, Australia, the U.S., the U.K.) 的英文名称及地理位置。

（二）能力目标

1. 语言技能的培养。

2. 获得一定的地理知识和辩认方位的能力。

（三）情感目标

1.

进一步加深学生对世界的了解和认识，激起他们的好奇心，增强学生学习英语的积极性。

2.

培养学生对祖国的热爱之情。

二、教学重难点

1. 使学生认识世界地图，认识一些重要的国家名称及地理位置。

2. 四个方位词的运用。

三、教学准备

一张世界地图、自制的突出五个国家的地图、north, south , east, west的张贴画、单词卡

四、教学过程

1、 review

（1）、

Chant

Up, up, point up. ↑

Right, right, point right. →Left, left, point left. ← Down, down, point down. ↓

[设计意图：

用生动活泼的歌谣进行热身，能在短时间内把学生的注意力吸引到课堂中来，同时还复习了本节课要用到的词汇：up,

down, right, left, point.]

T says the word, Ss say the opposite word.

[设计意图：检查学生对up, down, right, left.单词的理解，锻炼学生的迅速反应能力。]

（2）翻译国名,并要求同学们记住这些国家方位，后面比比谁的记忆力好：中国、加拿大、美国、澳大利亚、英国（指着图上的五个国家）,

2、 Presentations

（1）teach the new words : map、country

T: What is it in Chinese?（展示地图）

s: It’s a 地图.

T shows word card--- Ss spell it- ---T read it

T:OK class,Look at here,It's China.（教师手指着表示中国的红色部分）; Look at here,It's Australia

（教师手指着表示黄色部分）

T:China is our “country”.Australia is a “country”.what's the meaning of

“country”?(教师用重音强调 country,学生通过教师的体态语，大概猜出了是“国家”

的意思）

T shows word card--- Ss spell it- --- teacher read it

Ask and answer:S:what’s the purple country?S: It's United States（让学生了解美国的简称U.S）

what’s the green country?T:

It’s Canada.

what’s the blue country?T:

It’s United kingdoom （让学生了解美国的简称U.K）

(2)teach ss to read part 1.

(3)ask and answer:What colour is the United Kingdom? What country is yellow?

(4)teach the new words:north, south, east, west

Lead-in:T: Do you know the directions on the map? Look! It can tell us the directions. you can say it in Chinese. e.g. 上北……

Listen and answer my questions. What points up on a map?—north.listen again---T shows word card -- Ss spell it-- T read it --- T shows the sound of or and th --- Ss read [设计意图：用听音的方式引出方向“北”，培养学生听的能力。]

South:T: The opposite word of north is south.

T shows word card,

Ss read after T (twice)

East: Ss listen and answer--- What points left on a

map?—west .T shows word card， Ss read after T

T says the directions north, south, east，Ss point:

[设计意图：检查学生对north, south, east的理解情况

West: The opposite word of east is west.T shows word card, Ss read after T

(5)让学生制作方位图并呈现方位图上四个单词的缩写形式

（6）teach the ss to read part 2

3、 Practice

（1）、

小组朗读单词并比较那个组读得好

（2）、

play a short game：比一比谁的反应最快，指出教室的north, south, east, west

（“指一指”的游戏由教师发出指令point to north/ south/ east/west）

4、 Consolidation

（1）、根据单词卡片上的汉语说出英语单词：

（2）填空： points up on a map. points down.

points left. points right.

5、 Homework:

（1）. Introduce countries and directions on the map.

（2）. Write the following words twice and recite them:

country 、map、 north、 south 、west、 east
