III. Teaching difficult points: How to enable students to write more fluently by using the linking words. How to enable students to write a recipe. IV. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming-up.

1. T: Do you know some traditional food in China? Can you list some of them? 2. T：Dumplings, noodles, mooncakes, etc. Step 2 Revision and lead-in 1. Watch a video：How to make Yunnan Rice Noodles. 2. Look at the pictures and guess what do we need to make Yunnan rice noodles? (Learn the new words.) 3. Look at 3a and fill in the blanks according to the context and learn to use linking words. 4. Put the steps of making Yunnan Rice Noodles in the order.

5. Check the answers. 6. Finish Self Check and check the answers. Step 3 Writing

1. Tell the students how to write an outline according to the passage and give them the tips. 2. Talk about their favorite food in Yibin. Choose Yibin burning noodles to discuss how to make. 3. Watch a video about Yibin burning noodles. 4. Answer the teacher’s questions about the ingredients and the key words. 5. Let students write their own recipes. 6. Check the work. 7. Show the students one possible version. Step 4 Group work

1. Ask the students to write a recipe of their own crazy food in groups. Some students may write and other students in the group may draw the food on the paper. 2. Check the work and give the students some help. 3. Ask the group leaders to show their posters and give them awards.

4. Let students know that health is better than wealth. Step 5 Homework 1. Make some food for your family. Take some photos while you’re cooking. Then share the photos with your classmates.

2. Introduce the burning noodles to your new friends.
