to make food. 3.Guess the missing words according to the text and the speech of the words. 四.Teaching procedures: Step1. Warming up.

1.Greet the class.

2.Ask Ss three questions to lead in the topic of the passage —Yunnan rice noodles. Step2. Reading and completing.

1.Tell Ss their task: complete the passage with the words.(T should point out that Ss sneed to read the words in the box and analyse the speech of these words, and have a look at the pictures.) Give Ss 5 minutes to finish it.

2.Check the answers. Ss read the passage together.

3.Analyse the text structure, (the position, ingredients and the steps.) and how to guess the missing words.

4.Answer the questions according to the passage and summarise the way to describe a

process.

Step3.Preparing and wring

1.Ss think of their favorite Wanyuan food and write it down on their practice book.(Give Ss some examples if they can’t do it.)

2.Ask Ss to write down the ingredients they need to make their dish.(T could show Ss his or her own favorite dish and the ingredients.)

3.Ss help T to finish the dish—sour and spicy potato slices.(T shows pictures to point out each step and Ss should describe it with adverbs of sequence.)

4.Ss write down the steps to make their favorite food. Ask some Ss to show their process. Step4.Homework.
