Lesson21: What Year Is It? 教材分析:本单元围绕Jenny 和Danny春节期间来中国旅游与李明一家欢度春节的话题展开。本课是本单元的第三课,主要是介绍在中国每一年都可以用一种动物进行命名及让学生们了解自己及家人的属相。
学生分析:本教材面对的是五年级的学生,这个年龄段的学生对英语的学习热情较低年级有一点降低。不爱表达。但由于本课内容较有趣,可以提高学生们学习英语的学习兴趣。
教学目标:
1.
知识目标:a.四会单词:year, also及句子What is your year? My year is the year of the-----.的理解和运用。
b.强化序数词first-twelfth的认读与理解。
c.了解熟悉十二生肖动物的名称和排位情况。
2.能力目标:能够准确说出家人或朋友的属相。
3.情感目标:树立热爱动物、保护动物的意识。
4.学习策略目标:养成听录音和跟读句子的习惯;学习时集中注意力;通过联想在相关的知识间建立联系。
5.文化意识目标:学生能够通过本课的学习,认识到属相是我们中国所独有的,深刻体会中国和西方在文化上的不同。
重点:1.十二生肖名称及排名;
2.句子What is your year? My year is the year of the ------.的理解和应用。
难点:序数词及动物名称的掌握。
教学用具:卡片,录影机,多媒体等
教学过程:
Step1: Warm-up 1.
Greeting 2.
Play a game. ”What’s missing?”
Here are some cards.出示表序数词的卡片。 Let’s read them together.读两遍后开始游戏。
(设计意图:日常问候将学生们自然的引入英语的课堂中来。利用游戏复习序数词既可以活跃课堂气氛,又可以为复习序数单词,降低本课的新授内容。)
Step2: New concepts 1.

T: Good job! Do you like this game? We have some new friends here. They like to play games, too. Who are they? Let’s look.(多媒体出示老鼠的图片) T: What’s this? S:老鼠
T: It’s a rat.领读,全班读,男女生读。Spell.老师板书。
Rat rat , this is the rat.(随着拍手的节奏说,并做出老鼠的动作。) T: Is this a rat?(出示牛的图片) S:No. It’s an ox.操练板书。
Ox ox , this is an ox . (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出牛的动作。)
T:老师作出老虎咆哮的动作What’s this? S: It’s a tiger.简单读两遍。板书。
Tiger tiger, here’s a tiger. (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出老虎的动作。) T: What’s this?(老师作出头上长耳朵的样子) S: It’s a rabbit. Rabbit rabbit, it’s a rabbit. (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出兔子的动作。) T: Look! What is it? This is a dragon.领读,全班读,小组读,个人读。板书。
Dragon dragon, this is a dragon. (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出龙的动作。) T: 老师作出蛇吐信的动作Guess, what’s this? S: It’s a snake.读两遍,板书。
Snake snake, here’s a snake. (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出蛇的动作。) T: Guess, what is the next animal? It can run. And it is fast. S: It’s a horse.读两遍,板书。
Horse horse, this is a horse. T: You know this animal!(多媒体出示绵羊图片。) S: It’s a sheep.读两遍板书
Sheep sheep, It’s a sheep. T: You know this one,too! (多媒体出示猴子图片)
S: Monkey.读两遍板书
Monkey monkey, it’s a monkey. (随着拍手的节奏说,并做出猴子的动作。) T: Look! What’s this? It's a rooster.领读,全班读,男女生读,小组读。板书。
Rooster rooster, it’s a rooster. T: Do you know this one? It is our friend. It can say “woof, woof”
S: Dog. T: Yes. It’s a dog.读两遍,板书
Dog dog, woof woof dog. T: Which is the end animal? It likes to eat very much. S: It’s a pig.读两遍,板书
Pig pig, it is a pig. (设计意图:多媒体呈现图片,给学生更直观的认识,更易于学生的理解和记忆。模仿及拍手操练单词能够在激发学生的学习兴趣的同时巩固单词,同时可以培养学生热爱动物的感情。)
T:老师手指黑板Look here, how many animals are there? Let’s see…one, two, three…twelve.(师生齐数) Yes. There are twelve animals. We call them year animals. In China, years have names. Each year has an animal name. Look at them(手指黑板)。Who is the first? 引出The rat is the first. The ox is the second. The tiger is
the third. The rabbit is the fourth. The dragon is the fifth. The snake is the sixth. The horse is the seventh. The sheep is the eighth. The monkey is the ninth. The rooster is the tenth. The dog is the eleventh. The pig is the twelfth.全班一起说一遍。
T: Do you like them? What animal do you want to be? I’m a rat. The rat is first.(老师做个例子) 找学生一次说。
(设计意图:引导学生边看黑板变给十二生肖排序,可以强化学生对十二生肖的认识和对他们排序的掌握。)

T: 找一名学生How old are you? S1: I’m 10 years old. T: What is your year? S1: My year is the year of the monkey. T: 找另一名学生How old are you? S2: I’m 10 years old. T: What is your year?
S2: My year is the year of the monkey. T: (指着S1)Your year is the year of the monkey.(指着S2) Your year is also the year of the monkey. 全班操练。

Step3: Consolidation What is your year? What about your family? Talk about it with your partner. 小组表演。
Step4: Homework 1.
Talk about the years of animals. 2.
