六、Teaching procedures Ⅰ. Warming-up and lead in

1. Greetings. 2. Revision. Ask some students to talk about rules at school. 3. Lead-in. The teacher shows the class a picture of a zoo. And ask some questions about animals. Ⅱ. Presentation 1. First play a guessing game: Show the class some pictures of animals and the sounds of animals on the big screen. Let Ss guess what animal it is:

---What animal is it?

---It's a tiger. (Then lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe)

Ss look at the pictures and try to remember the new words of the animals. Then teach them some description words. 2. Next, ask one student to match the words with the picture on the screen . Other students turn to page 25 and finish 1a. 3. Check the answers with the class.

Ⅲ. Listening

Work on 1b.

Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a.

Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.

Ⅳ. Pair work

1. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.”

Then ask a pair to read the model : —

Let’s see the lions first.

—Why do you want to see them?

—Because they are interesting.

2. Ss work with their partners to practice the conversation using the animals in 1a.

Ⅴ.Summary and Homework:
