Unit4 What’s the best movie theater? Section B 3a-3c (Teaching Design) 一、[Learning goals] 1. Students review the comparative and advanced levels of adjectives and adverbs. Master the new word “crowded”. 2. Students can use the comparative and advanced usage of adjectives and adverbs learned by describing the location and things around them. 3. Students understand that everyone has their own special skills, strengths and characteristics. Everyone can learn from others the valuable qualities and spirits you need. [Teaching key points] Students can use the highest level of adjectives or adverbs they have learned to perform related tasks based on tips. [Learning difficulties] Students can use the superlative forms of adjectives or adverbs they have learned to describe some places and things around them, etc.

二、Teaching process.

1. Warm-up. Listen to an English song: "The more we get together, the happier we will be." The purpose is to activate the atmosphere and prepare for the topic of today.

2. Revision Brainstorm: Let’s look at some pictures to review the superlative forms of adjectives or adverbs . crowded (adj.)→most crowded→ Welcome to the most crowded city.

creative (adj.)→most creative →It’s the most creative idea. good (adj.) →best→He is the best student in our class. fast (adv.)→fastest→The car runs (the) fastest. quietly (adv.) → most quietly→He reads (the) most quietly in the library.

3. Pre-reading. Free talk: Let students talk about “What's your favorite place to go to on weekends? Why is it？”

（1）．The Children's Center is the best place to go to on weekends. Because I can play tennis and ping ­pong. I can speak English with friends.

（2）．The best place to go to is Central Park. Because I can swim and climb the hill. I can fly kites and take a walk in the woods.

4.While-reading （1）．Look at 3a and read the words in the chart. （2）．Let students read the passage，select the superlative degrees of the right words to fill in the blanks. Then ask 2－3 students to read the article. Teacher pays attention to the pronunciation，correct it in time, check the answers together. （3）．Read 3a again and answer the question: Why does the writer go to Greenwood Park?

5. Post-reading Finish 3b: Think about some of the best places/ things in your town. Why are they the best? (1).Give the mind-map. Show the places/ things of the town.

(2).Discuss it with the group members and show the answers. To lay the groundwork for the following facts writing.

6.While-writing Finish 3c: Write about your town and the best places / things there.

And then make an analysis of English composition to the class.

Writing is a training process from shallow to deep, from easy to difficult, from simple to complex. Any problem in any link will affect the cultivation of students 'writing ability.
