Step 1: Revision and Lead in

T: Boys and girls, how are you today?

Ss: Fine, thanks. And you?

T: I’m fine, too. What’s the weather like today?

Ss: It’s cold.

T: Yes. It’s getting colder and colder. So please remember to wear more clothes to keep you warm. Well, Last class, we have learnt something about TV shows. Now maybe each of you has a picture, right? I think you have practiced the conversation with your partner. Who wants to show the conversation? S1: …

T: For one thing, different people have different ideas.It's the same as TV shows. There are so many kinds of TV shows.You like this one,he likes that one.But how to choose TV shows? They are just for fun? After this class, I hope you can get the answers.

Step 2: 2a & 2b

T: Today we will go on learning Unit 5. Tell me the title together.

Ss: Do you want to watch a game show? (Write the title on the blackboard.)

T: Now I want to introduce two of my friends. They are Lin Hui and Sally. They are talking about TV shows now. Let's listen to their ideas about TV shows. But before the listening, let's see the picture first. How many people are there in the picture?

Ss: Two.

T: Yes. What are you doing?

Ss: They are watching TV.

T: What kind of TV show do they watch?

T: In my opinion, maybe it's the sitcom. Because all the people in the picture are very happy and the man in TV are making dumplings during Spring Festival. Do you think so? Play the recording for the first time and finish 2a. Check the answers together.

T: Let’s look at the picture in 2d. Who are they?

T: Yes. Their classes are over and they are talking happily on the way home. Can you guess what they are talking about?

T: Clever. First of all, there is something new we should learn:

expect V. 预想，期待

eg: Students expect to get good grades in the new term. T: Please keep all of these things in your mind. They are very important. Now I will play the recording and you should learn their pronunciation and intonation.

Play the recording and ask the students to read after it.

T: Now it’s time for us to read the conversation in pairs. Let’s see what Grace and Sarah are talking about.
