Greet the class as usual and check the homework. Step 2 Presentation

First let students look at the days of the week at the top of the calendar in the book. Read these words to the class and ask them to repeat.

Then display a current wall calendar and ask a student to point out today’s date. Ask different students to read each day’s date to the class.

Call attention to the words and expressions in the box. Ask students to write these words on the calendar.

Step 3 Practice

First ask two students to read the dialogue in the speech bubble. Lead students to notice the language points.

Then have students work in pairs. One student points to a date and asks, what’s today? The other student answers.

Do the listening practice, and then check the answers together. Step 4 Consolidation Give students several minutes to do 1f. As they work, move around the room checking the progress and offering language support as needed.

Later, invite several students to present their conversation. Step 5 Summary Step 6 Homework
