Unit5 Why do you like pandas? Writing

设计意图：Review the animals, adjectives and sentence structures of expressing preferences about animals that we’ve learned in this unit. Learn to write a passage to describe favorite animals.

教材分析：This lesson is the last period of this unit. It’s focused on reviewing and writing. The topic of this lesson is animals. As students have learned different kinds of animals and adjectives about animals in this unit, they are eager to describe their favorite animals from different aspects.

学情分析：Most students can say and write simple sentences to describe their favorite animals by learning this unit. However, they can’t describe their favorite animals from different aspects. In this class, they will learn to describe animals from appearances, personalities, ages, where they are from, where they live, why people like them logically.

教学目标：

Knowledge objectives: Review words, adjectives about animals and sentence structures of expressing preferences. 2.

Ability objectives: Learn to summarize the key points about describing animal and write a passage to describe animals logically. 3.

Moral objectives: Learn to express their loves for animals and arouse their awareness of protecting animals.

教学准备：Students should search more words about animals and adjective

of describing animals. They also need to search more information about their favorite animals. What’s more, they are asked to review words, adjectives about animals and sentence structures of expressing preferences that we’ve learned in this unit.

教学过程：

Step1: Pre-writing 1.

Lead-in Play a song “Old Macdonald Had a Farm”. Question: What animals can you hear in the song? (目的：引入,让学生在轻松愉快的氛围中进入课堂学习，并引出本课话题动物)

Guessing game. (1)Play sounds of different animals and let students guess what animals they are according to the sounds. (2) Guess what animals they are according to teacher’s descriptions. (目的:通过听音辨动物以及听教师的描述猜测动物，激发兴趣，复习旧知)

3.

Present a mind map to lead students to review knowledge about animals. (目的:引导学生用思维导图的形式复习本单元关于动物的知识，有助于学生形成系统的知识结构)

4.

Pair- work Talk about their favorite animals with their partners and then act out. A: What animals do you like ? B: I like ......... A: Why do you like them？

B: Because they’re..... A: Where are they from? B: They are from....... (目的：两人一组口头操练复习本单元的目标语言，为后面的写做好铺垫)

5.Guess teacher’s favorite animals according to teacher’s descriptions. （目的：学生根据教师的描述，猜测教师最喜爱的动物，调动学生兴趣，教师的描述能够为学生的说与写做示范）

6.Teacher introduce her favorite animal to make an example for students. （目的：教师示范介绍自己喜爱的动物，为学生的写做示范) 7.Group work: Lead students to summarize the key points of describing animals. (目的：学生小组合作，总结老师范文中描写动物的要点，为后续写做铺垫)

Group work: Present key points or a mind map of a kind of animal and let students talk about the animal orally in group. Every student in each group need to say one sentence to describe the animal. (目的：培养小组合作能力，以说导写，为后续的写作做铺垫）

Ask students to write down the key points of their favorite animals in order to write an outline for their writing. （目的：训练学生根据提纲列出文章的要点的写作技能)

Step2: While-writing

1.

Let students write a passage to describe their favorite animals in ten minutes. (目的：让学生在规定的时间里完成写作）

Step3: Post-writing

Present some students’

writing and check their writings with the whole class. （目的：全班展示，品赏同学文章，引导学生找出文中的美词佳句，以及有待改正的地方，同时反思自己的文章，发现自己文章存在的问题，有助于学生提高书面表达中的准确性）

Exchange their writings with their partners’

and check for each other.

（目的：培养学生自己修改文章的能力）

Moral education: Watch a video about animal protecting in order to arouse students’ awareness of protecting animals.

（目的：情感教育，通过观看动物保护宣传广告，让学生认识到动物是我们的朋友，人类只有学会和动物和谐相处，我们的家园才会更美好。从而激发学生保护动物的情感，实现感情的升华）
