一、教学目标

1. 知识与技能：学会描述动物，掌握单词monkey, tiger, lion elephant, zoo, baby, fat，thin, small, short, tall, big. 复习名词的单复数。学习新句型He’s tall. That monkey is big and fat.

2、过程与方法：通过玩游戏、猜动物和小组合作等方式，完成本节课的学习。通过学唱歌曲，提高学生的学习兴趣，巩固动物名称。

3、情感态度与价值观：通过模仿动物的叫声体会英语学习的乐趣。

四、教学过程设计

Step1 Warming-up T: Good morning, boys and girls. Ss: Good morning Miss Wei. Revise some animals they know. Show pictures to Ss and ask what are they?/ What is it? Ss work in pairs to talk about animals. Step2 listen, point and say. Teach new words tall, short, big, small, thin, fat to Ss. Ask two Ss to the front and say: Liu is tall and Li is short. Show real things to Ss and teach big and small. Give more examples so that Ss can understand clearly. Play the tape recorder and let Ss point and say. Teacher gets Ss to listen to the tape and then repeat. Step3 Look and say Get Ss to look at the pictures and adjs to describe animals like this: This panda is tall and fat. That panda is short and thin. Get Ss to act out in the front.

Step4 Listen say and sing. Play the tape and let Ss listen and sing the song:

Old Macdonald has a zoo. Old Macdonald had a farm. Step5 Play the game. Do and say. Get Ss to draw the animals they like and introduce to the class like this: They’re monkeys and they’re thin and small. Get Ss do the actions and say:

This panda is fat. That panda is thin. Ask more Ss to the front do and say. Step6 Homework Make conversations in pairs to talk about animals.
