本课选自《新标准英语》三年级起始三年级下册Module2 Unit2 That man is short.本单元主要学习运用恰当的形容词描述某人或某物的特征。学习几对反义词:tall-short, big-small, fat-thin.

教学目标

一、知识目标

词汇:tall, short, big, small, fat, thin, big and fat

句子:This monkey is small and thin.

二、能力目标

能灵活运用This/That … is tall/ short/ big/ small.

描述某人/物的特征。

三、情感目标

1.培养学生爱护小动物的美好品质。

2.通过学习,树立学生学习英语的自信心和团结合作的能力。

教学过程

Step1. Warm-up.

A.Greetings.

B.Sing the ABC song.

C.Revision.

(What’s this? What’s that?)

Step2.Lead in.

How to describe these objects? 怎样来描述这些食物或人的特征呢?我们一起走进今天的英语世界吧!

Step3.Presentation

1).Show the PPT, and ask the pupils who he is. Then teach the word ‘man’, and show some words to lead the pupils read. 2)Compare with one pupil to teach the two words short and tall, and show some words to lead the pupils read, then practice. Show the PPT, and present the title.

3) T: Boys and girls , now I want to show you something. Look, What’s this?

Ss: It’s a ball.

T: What about this one? It’s a ball too. What’s the difference?

T: Yes, this ball is big, and this ball is small.(拿着两个球对比,引导学生说出big, small)

4) Show the PPT, then p resent the two words ‘fat , thin’ . Show a flash to the pupils about African children to make the pupils cherish the lives they live.

5) The pupils write the words .

Step4. Text learning . Play the flash and ask the pupils to read after it.
