一、教材分析

这个故事是冀教版英语三起五年级上册Reading for Fun中的第三个故事，是有关中国传统节日——春节的由来的传说。重点是让学生了解春节习俗的由来。这个故事与本册书Unit4关联性较强，可以通过阅读激发学生的学习兴趣。

二、学情分析

春节是学生所熟悉的中国传统节日，关于春节的习俗有很多，可以借助学生已有的知识帮助学生学习这个故事。

三、教学目标

（一）知识与技能目标

1.听懂、理解、会说、能认读strong, sea, wife, husband, give, firecracker, couple, anymore。

2.能够在图片和教师的帮助下理解故事。

3.能够借助图片用简单的英语复述故事。

（二）学习策略目标

1.能够积极运用英语表达和交流。

2.能够在图片和他人的帮助下理解故事。

（三）情感态度目标

体会学习的乐趣，培养团体合作意识，激发阅读兴趣。

（四）文化意识目标

了解中国的传统文化习俗，热爱祖国传统文化。

四、教学重难点

重点：借助图片在教师的帮助下读懂故事。

难点：借助图片用简单的英语复述故事。

Step1 Class Opening and lead in 1.

Greetings

T: Good morning, boys and girls. I’m Miss Li. Ss: Good morning Miss Li.

Lead in T: Do you like the Spring Festival? Ss: Yes. T: Today I will tell you a story. The Story of Nian .（板书标题）

Step2 New concepts 1. Look and say A:

出示第一张图片

学生看图片理解故事。

T: Let’s look at this picture. What can you see? Ss: …… . T: This is Nian.张贴图片Nian。Nian is big. Nian is strong. （做strong动作并板书strong。）Now, look. What does Nian have?

Ss：A big mouth. T: Where does Nian Live in? Ss: Water./ Sea. (板书sea，教读，跟读) B: T: Nian sleeps for 364 days a year.

(出示ppt 呈现句子。) Only one day, Nian will wake up and come out of the sea. When does he wake up? Ss: ……

T: On the eve of the Spring Festival, Nian is hungry. 出示图片2ppt，What are the people and the sheep doing?（鼠标指向）

Ss: running，

shouting，Help，help. T: Why do they run and shout? Ss: Nian wants to eat animals and people. C: 出示图片3

T: They are afraid of Nian. What will people do, when the Spring Festival comes? Ss: They will run to the mountains.

T: Does all the people run away?（出示图片4）

Ss: No. An old man and an old woman don’t run to the mountains.

D: T: 指着图片，解释。This is the husband(丈夫). This is the wife(妻子).

They are a couple（夫妻）. Look. What happen to the old man? Can you guess? Ss: ……

T: Yes. The old man is sick. （板书sick，领读，释义。）What does the old woman do? Ss: ……

T: The old woman makes dumplings for her husband. Oh, someone comes. Who? E: 出示图片5ppt T: What can you see from the picture? Ss: An old man. T: The poor old man is thin and hungry. Now look at here. What is the old woman doing? Ss:……

T: Give.（板书give）。The old woman gives him some dumplings. Does the old man run to the mountains? Ss: No.

T: Why doesn’t the poor old man leave? Ss:……

T: What does the poor old man do to help the old woman? Ss:学生观察图片，教师引导

T: 出示词组，板书：put red paper on the door/ in red clothes /light some firecrackers（释义，领读）

T: 出示图片7 ，When Nian see the red and the firecrackers, Nian is

scared.（释义scared）。He runs away.

Now I will give you 1 minute ,you can choose one picture to say.

Ss: 3minutes to describe the pictures. T: Very good. You did a good job. 2.

Group work T: Now I hope Group1 describe picture1-4, and Group 2 describe picture 5-8. And you will have 3 minutes to prepare. Ss: Group work. Let students retell the pictures. Step 4 Summary Today, we know a story of Nian. Do you love the story? I hope you can read the story after class.

Step5 Homework

Now let’s look at the homework. Retell the whole story to your friends.
